Cypriot Elderly & Disabled Group
The Cypriot Centre’s main full-time user organisation is the Cypriot Elderly & Disabled Group & Day Services (CEDG), which is a charitable organisation and company limited by guarantee.
The Service provides a comprehensive Day Centre provision which caters for the cultural, linguistic and religious needs of young adult/ elderly disabled Cypriots of all backgrounds.
CEDG provides a Day Centre service from Monday to Friday.
The primary aim of the CEDG is to prevent isolation amongst the elders of the large Cypriot community and is targeted at meeting the needs of Cypriots of all ages who are frail, disabled, dementia/mild mental health sufferers, or who require high level of emotional and physical support.
Special tail-lift transport is available on a daily basis to convey those isolated, disabled frail users to the Centre.
Other services offered are a Housing Related Supporting People Service providing access to services, advocacy, activities related to their ‘tenancies’ and security in the community.
A weekly activities programme is provided and geared towards motivating and stimulating users.
